Grand ballroom of the Orangerie im Kurpark set for a Tanz·Kultur·Begegnung evening

Founded MCMXXXII

Tanz. Kultur. Begegnung.

Tanz·Kultur·Begegnung — a Bad Homburg cultural association for dance, learning and community since 1932.

A Bad Homburg community dedicated to dance, culture, tradition and meaningful human connection — at home in the Orangerie im Kurpark.

About the Society

A standing Bad Homburg company of dancers, scholars, families and friends.

Tanz·Kultur·Begegnung was founded in 1932 by a small circle of Bad Homburg musicians, academics and dancers who believed that culture is best preserved not in glass cases but in the daily life of a community. Nine decades later, the same conviction guides our work in the Orangerie im Kurpark.

We are neither a school nor a club in the ordinary sense. We are a standing company of women and men — of every age, profession and country — who gather to dance, to learn, to listen and to keep one another good company. New members are welcomed each season by introduction or application.

In the Members' Own Words

A long company of friends.

Joining the Society has been one of the gentler pleasures of my middle years. One finds, almost without noticing, that one's friends here become friends for life.

Dr Eleanor Whitfield

Member since 2014

It is rare, in our distracted age, to find a place that prizes conversation, courtesy and the lifting of a glass to old traditions. This is such a place.

Henrik Bauer

Member since 2008

My daughter and I both dance here, in different programmes. Three generations of our family have now passed through these rooms.

Caroline Albright

Member since 1997

Our Promise

We have been here for generations, and we shall remain for generations to come.

The Society's task is small and unfashionable: to keep open a room in which culture, courtesy and good company may continue to meet.
