This statement informs you about the nature, scope and purpose of the processing of personal data on this website and in the course of our membership administration.

When you visit our website, technical information is transmitted by your browser to our hosting provider, including IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, browser type and operating system. This data is processed exclusively for the purpose of delivering the website and ensuring its stability and security (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We do not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics or advertising services.

When you write to us by the contact form or by email, the information you provide (name, email, message) is processed solely to answer your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). Correspondence is retained for as long as it is necessary to handle the matter and thereafter in accordance with statutory retention periods.

Applications for membership are processed on the legal basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and, for accepted members, for the administration of the membership relationship.

Data processed includes: name, address, date of birth, email, telephone, chosen membership category, dance experience, motivation and (if provided) the name of a referring member. Rejected applications are deleted no later than six months after the decision, unless you request earlier deletion.

When you register for an event, we process your name, email, telephone (if provided), number of guests and any message in order to administer the registration, confirm it by email and manage attendance (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Registration records are deleted twelve months after the event unless retention is required by law.

This website is hosted on infrastructure within the European Union. The database and authentication services we use process data on our behalf under data processing agreements in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

You have the right, under the conditions of the GDPR, to information (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 21).

You may exercise these rights at any time by writing to the address above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Wiesbaden.
